Project CARS – Gamescom Video Trailer

Project CARS is having a big presence at this week’s Gamescom expo in Cologne and to honor the occasion, a brand new video trailer has been released.

Gamescom Visitors are invited to give Project CARS a try as both the Playstation 4 & PC versions can be sampled at Europe’s biggest gaming event by visiting  the Sony stand (Hall 7) and the Alienware stand (Hall 8) respectively.

Project CARS will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam OS, and Wii U starting November 2014

Project CARS – Silverstone Reality Check

Project CARS – Oulton Park Reality Check

DigiProst has made another one of his stunning Project CARS reality check comparison videos.

This time, he tackles Oulton Park as we get to see the BAC Mono on the British track, both in real life and in Slightly Mad Studios’ upcoming WMD-powered title.

Oulton Park is one of Project CARS’ laser-scanned circuits for even more accuracy, an extra effort that pays off pretty well as you can see below.

Project CARS – New Weather Previews

Slightly Mad Studios have released a fresh batch of Project CARS previews, showing off some of the new features that have recently been added to the title’s ever-expanding weather & time of day engine.

The fully dynamic weather engine now comes with rain droplets, riplet and god rays as you can see in the new previews below.

As usual, the in-game previews have been made by WMD forum members, using the latest Project CARS development builds.

While members can enjoy access to the title’s development builds all the way up to the November release, gamers who did not join WMD in time will have several chances to get hands on with Project CARS at several events.

Confirmed appearances include the San Diego Comic Con and the Gamescom expo in Cologne, all upcoming events will be added to the event calendar on the Project CARS Facebook page.

Project CARS – All Cars In Showroom Video

Project CARS has recently been equipped with a spectacular new showroom setup and Digiprost has put together a video, showing all the title’s cars in the new environment.

The video below shows the vast selection of cars in the development builds of Project CARS in the new showroom, including the wide range that goes from road cars to karts and all the way up to historic & current racing machinery, including prototypes and powerful open wheelers.

Project CARS – First Wheel Compatibility List

Slightly Mad Studios have revealed a first list of wheels that will be supported by their upcoming Project CARS title.

Thanks to a collaboration with Thrustmaster, the title will support the vast range of Thrustmaster products on both the PC and next-gen gaming consoles.

The first list below is in no way complete yet as both Fanatec & Logitech are still busy finalizing their support for the next-gen gaming consoles, as such the choice is still limited there as of now.

In general, Project CARS aims to support as many devices as possible on all platforms and the list will be updated in the coming months as Project CARS moves closer to its November release date.

Project CARS – Rain Ripples Preview Video

One Car, One Track In Five Sims – Videos

therealPaulaD has put together an interesting video, showing a popular car & track combo in five different simulations.

The video shows the Mclaren MP4-12C GT3 at Laguna Seca in rFactor 2, Project CARS, RaceRoom Racing Experience, SimRaceWay & Assetto Corsa.

Unlike other comparisons, the video does not use the splitscreen technique but shows the sims one after another.

Project CARS – Distributor Announced

Edging closer to its November 2014 release date, a major new puzzle piece for Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS title has fallen into place as the title’s official distributor has been announced:

BANDAI NAMCO Games will distribute the WMD-powered title across the globe, the title is coming to the PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and WiiU, starting November 2014.

“We are tremendously happy to be collaborating with Slightly Mad Studios on this promising title, in which community expectations are fusing with racers expertise to craft the next generation of simulation!” said Alberto González Lorca, VP Third Parties, BANDAI NAMCO Games Europe.

Project CARS – SRT Playstation 4 First Look

InsideSimRacing.tv continues their special coverage from the E3 expo, taking a look at Project CARS on the Playstation 4.

Slightly Mad Studios’ WMD-powered simulation was playable at the Sony booth, allowing the public to get hands on with the Playstation 4 version of the multi platform title.

The PS4 demo featured the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3 on the laser-scanned Brands Hatch Circuit. The demo is obviously an alpha-build of Project CARS, flaws like the steering wheel movement seen in the video have already been addressed as the title moves forward to its November release.
